Love in our 21st century

In a century like ours, love is something we only read about. We talk about it, sometimes, we watch it in those 'love stories' how they ' were made for each other'. I am no pessimist, far from it really but its difficult to see the love, to find it, to realise that 'this is it' if the world itself depicts it of being fictional. Its hard to see 'love' when love is strewn all over with breakups, divorces and broken marriages.

Yet, I beg to differ.

To tell you the truth, i have no more experience than that of a couple in cloud 9(first few months of being in a relationship). being with him now for the past 6 years feels honestly like our first year together, alright no,but it does feel somehow like we've been in love forever. What i can tell you is that the feeling is beautiful. like every special love story, it always has a beautiful beginning but the plot is where 'life happens' doesn't it?

However, he has taught me how to love, and that i will forever be grateful. Even if life gets in the way, to know that you've found love, something so special and indescribable definitely counts for something.

To want his hand to kiss, to want nothing more than his arms around you. To have love that may turn to lust. Now i understand why people call it making love and not to have s**. To yearn for the other not just for another day, another week but for a lifetime. To yearn for a lifetime of disagreements, quarrels and hurt.Why? Not because you're a masochist or anything. Because that is love. It is as beautiful as how you make it. If there are no disagreements, how can there be any make ups. If there is no hurt, how can there be love so deep you feel it in your bones. When people say, you'll know if its real when you find it. I understand it, you will know if its worth yearning the pain and sleepless nights. I think love stories do have that fairytale love just with some bits of reality in it. That feeling you're looking for exists out there, it just depends if life gets in the way of it and if you let it.

to love, is to give, and to give is to be happy.
